Of the Obscured Infinite

Pinhole camera image of Canary Wharf, London
This is a key project undertaken during a Master’s program: Situated Practice at the Bartlett School of Architecture.
Entitled “Of the Obscured Infinite” the project delves into the impact of skylines obscuring horizon lines on our perception of infinity within dense urban environments. Of the Obscured Infinite at a glimpse:
Attempts to Capture the Infinite
Artist’s book that traces the history of urban skylines (specifically London), the contemporary nature of such spaces and the reasons of their formation, and proposes the method of pinhole camera to celebrate the pause offered by the space whilst documenting the iterative failures of capturing the skyline through analogue methods.

Inverted Infinites
A camera obscura installation which attempted to record the obscured infinite.
The installation’s first presentation was to the cohort and a few visitors of the park. This presentation included a short performative walk and narration prior to the camera obscura experience.

Camera Obscura installation at Blythe Hill Fields on 17 October 2022 and 25 October 2022.
Negotiating the Infinite
This situated video is a portrait of Blythe Hill Fields documenting the spatial qualities of the park and the process of being situated at the park with a pinhole camera and camera obscura.
